About Team Fierce
Team Fierce is a competitive women’s basketball program based in the Piedmont Triad.
We were built to provide a structured environment where athletes can develop through basketball, not just in skill, but in confidence, discipline, and responsibility. Our program is intentional by design and grounded in consistency, preparation, and care for the athlete as a whole.
Our Mission
At Team Fierce, development is the priority.
Athletes are coached through fundamentals, repetition, and clear feedback. Practices are purposeful. Expectations are communicated. Progress is earned over time through effort, focus, and coachability.
We believe basketball is a powerful tool for growth when it’s taught the right way, with structure, honesty, and accountability.

A Program With Purpose
Justin and Amanda Ward's vision for Team Fierce was built on passion, commitment, and respect.
Respect for the game. Respect for the athletes. Respect for future generations of ballers.
Justin was blessed and fortunate enough to grow up playing the game of basketball at a high level with the North Carolina Gaters AAU program out of Greensboro, NC. He cherished those weekends on the hardwood playing in different states and competing with and against some of the best players in the country. He was blessed to learn the game from great coaches and many of those teammates went on to play high level Division I & Division II college basketball. While he ultimately went to Elon University on a full football scholarship, basketball remained his passion. He stayed connected to the game through officiating high school basketball and when he and Amanda were blessed with two children, he immediately became active as a coach with their teams. He is also recognized as being instrumental in establishing Bethany Sports League, Inc., the non-profit which was built to allow the young athletes within the Bethany community to continue playing the game of basketball. Beginning in 2024, he also began coaching the game at the Women's Varsity level in Summerfield, NC.
During his constant interaction with the game on every level, Justin witnessed a void in his surrounding communities as respects the game of basketball. The toughest and most driven female athletes with big basketball dreams experienced success at the middle school and high school level, but they didn't have a platform that could fully enable their dreams. A platform that was truly about them. A platform that was Built the Right Way, with the Right People, for the Right Reasons. Therefore - Team Fierce was born.
The Ward Family's vision for Team Fierce is one that allows their kids to understand what truly respecting the game means.
A platform that judges athletes on merit. A platform that can provide you with endless opportunities - but only if you put in the work. A platform that is ran by professionals. A platform that creates tailored platforms and avenues to the next level. A platform that is built truly for the athletes who are passionate, hungry, and driven. For athletes who aspire to be different.
